History
Lohrberg was developed in the early 20th century as part of Frankfurt’s “Volkspark” movement, designed to create public green spaces for recreation and health.
The area has long been associated with vineyards and orchards, and even today maintains a small but historic municipal vineyard on its southern slope. After World War II, parts of the park were used for agricultural support gardens before becoming a fully recreational landscape again.
