Welcome to Vamos Local. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Vamos Local platform, accessible at vamoslocal.com. By accessing or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Vamos Local is a marketplace that connects tourists with local creators and independent guides. The platform facilitates digital itinerary access, tour planning, guide hiring, payment processing, and in-app communications.
The platform also provides hotel pickup services, optional donation capabilities, newsletter communications, a travel blog guide, and tools for guides to suggest new catalog stops.
2.1. Google OAuth: Vamos Local uses Google OAuth for authentication. By signing in, you authorize us to access your basic Google profile information (name, email, and profile photo) for account creation and identification purposes.
2.2. Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. Any activity under your Vamos Local account is your sole responsibility.
2.3. Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your profile up-to-date. Misrepresentation of identity or credentials may result in account suspension.
3.1. Collection: We collect your Google profile data (name, email, photo), tour preferences, questionnaire responses, booking history, payment transaction records, and messages sent through guide chat.
3.2. Usage: Your data is used to generate personalized itineraries, process bookings and payments, match you with suitable guides, and improve the platform experience.
3.3. Security: We do not sell your personal data. Payment information is processed securely through Stripe and BTC Pay Server, and is never stored on our servers.
3.4. Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data by visiting the Privacy Center section of our Privacy Policy page.
This section applies to tourists booking tours on Vamos Local.
4.1. Payment Methods: Vamos Local offers three payment methods: credit/debit card (via Stripe), Bitcoin (via Lightning Network), and Pay During Tour (cash or direct payment to your guide at the start of the tour).
4.2. Pay During Tour: If you select this option, you commit to paying your guide the full amount shown at booking time when the tour begins. Failure to pay may result in tour cancellation and account restrictions.
Platform Fee
A 20% platform fee is included in the total price displayed at checkout. This fee covers AI itinerary generation, platform maintenance, payment processing, and customer support.
4.3. Hotel Pickup Service: Tourists may opt for hotel pickup at booking or after booking. Surcharges depend on the assigned guide's configured pricing mode and are shown transparently before checkout.
4.4. Shareable Itineraries: Booked itineraries can be shared via a public link. Shared pages display tour stops only — no personal or payment data is included.
Cancellation requests must be made through the platform. The refund amount is determined by the cancellation window relative to the scheduled tour start time:

For digital purchases (self-guided itineraries), all sales are final and non-refundable once digital access has been granted, except as outlined in our Refund & Cancellation policy.
6.1. Punctuality: You agree to arrive at the designated meeting point on time. Late arrivals may result in a shortened tour with no refund.
6.2. Respectful Behavior: You must treat your guide and fellow tour members with respect. Abusive, threatening, or discriminatory behavior will result in immediate tour termination and account suspension.
This section applies to guides registered on the Vamos Local platform.
7.1. platform commission: Vamos Local retains a 20% commission on all completed tour assignments. Guides are responsible for the remittance of this platform commission for Pay During Tour bookings.
7.2. Professional Standards: Guides must arrive 10 minutes prior to tour start, conduct themselves professionally, choose safe routes, and maintain accurate profile data.
In the event of a dispute, both parties should first attempt to resolve the matter via the platform chat system. Escalations to Vamos Local support will be reviewed and decided within 7 business days, including potential refunds or account suspension.
Live location sharing is entirely opt-in. When enabled, your device transmits coordinates during the active tour window to allow the traveler and guide to find each other. Retained GPS logs are automatically purged within 180 days.
Vamos Local acts as a marketplace. We do not employ guides and are not liable for their conduct, the safety of tours, or any incident occurring during tours. AI-generated itineraries are provided strictly as suggestions.
