Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Tour Cancellation Windows
For guided tour bookings, the amount of refund eligibility depends on the time of the cancellation request relative to the scheduled start time of the tour:

Cancellations must be processed directly through your Vamos Local dashboard or requested in writing to our support team.
2. Refund Processing & Deductions
2.1. Original Payment Method: Approved refunds will be credited back to the payment method used during checkout (Stripe or Bitcoin Lightning).
2.2. Processing Time: Stripe card refunds typically appear on your statement in 5-10 business days. Bitcoin refunds are issued at the original fiat value in USD and sent back to your specified Lightning address.
2.3. No Reimbursement Platform Surcharge: Vamos Local charges 0% on reimbursements. The platform commission is fully waived on the eligible refund portion, ensuring you receive the exact percentage of your payment.
3. Digital Product Sales (Self-Guided Itineraries)
Self-guided digital itineraries are available for instant download and digital access immediately after completion of checkout.
Because of the nature of digital downloads, all sales of self-guided digital itineraries are final, non-transferable, and non-refundable once access is granted. If you experience technical issues accessing your purchase, please contact our support team for troubleshooting assistance.
4. Guide Cancellations and No-Shows
If your assigned independent local guide cancels the booking, or fails to appear at the meeting point within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time, you are entitled to:
- A 100% full refund of all charges (including hotel pickup fees if applicable).
- Alternative tour options or guide rescheduling assistance.
5. Surcharges & Booking Alterations
5.1. Hotel Pickup Fees: Hotel pickup fees are snapshotted at booking time. If you cancel your tour within the 100% or 50% window, the pickup fee refund follows the same refund percentage. Pickup fees are completely non-refundable if the guide has already departed to your pickup address.
5.2. Surcharge Differences: Adjustments to group sizes or tour durations require recalculation. Surcharge adjustments paid during booking updates are eligible for refund according to these cancellation windows.
6. Force Majeure & Exceptional Cases
In rare events of severe weather warnings, travel bans, national emergencies, or documented health emergencies, Vamos Local may override standard policy in favor of credit vouchers or full refunds. Proof of emergency may be requested.
